> Lead local supplier to complete localization project and ensure it follow Conti. standard.
> Adherence to and preparation of timing plans.
> Produce BML and SOP that is correct, readable and contains all necessary tools for a Team Leader to be able to set up a machine.
> Produce accurate drawings at correct levels.
> Ensure that tooling, fixturing and change parts are available at agreed dates in line with start of production requirements where necessary, this may involve computer aided design of fixtures and change details.
> Consignment stock and spares must be checked regularly in line with production requirements and max/min levels changed accordingly.
> Priority must always be given to running production concerns and full support given when requested
> Good communication links are required between production, engineering, logistics and quality. This communication link is strengthened by ensuring the engineering availability at the morning walks.
> Checks to be made daily on current running production requirements.
> Assist the Engineering Manger with the introduction & exportation of new products/processes when requested.
> Evaluate existing processes and cycle times and aim to continuously improve.
> Assist production with changeovers if requested.
> Support sister plant in China for ramp-up and improvments.
> Provide training for Team Leaders and other engineers on core skills as and when requested by the Engineering Manager.
> To participate in and lead continuous improvement activities.
> Liaise with external vendors, ensuring detailed specifications are always provided to ensure the most cost effective purchasing.
> Other duties assigned by supervisor.
> Univerity degree in mechanical engineering or related
> 3-5 years experience in a manufacturing environment, preferably automotive, using low/medium volume cnc controlled machines
> Good engineering background.
> The ability to use AutoCAD and other engineering tools would be required.Training could be arranged.
> Effective use of PFMEAs and mistake proofing techniques.
> Automotive customer required quality techniques and methodologies, e.g. APQP and PPAP.
> Knowledge of CNC programming would be an advantage
> Good knowledge of english (spoken and written)
