  • Purpose of the job
    The Manager Planning, Scheduling, Logistics, Import/Export function should optimize operations mid-term (planning) and short-term (scheduling) within the given boundaries, make transparent any issues and coordinate their cross-functional resolution. He should furthermore constantly coordinate with the Sulzer internal functions as well as external functions.

    Qualifications/Experience and Knowledge Required
    Educated to degree level (Diploma, Master, Bachelor) in technical studies or educated to degree level (Diploma, Master, Bachelor) in business studies with profound knowledge of production/ supply chain
    ? Understanding of key production and supply technologies/processes/tools as well as legal aspects
    ? Profound knowledge and experience in planning and scheduling
    ? Profound knowledge in Logistics
    ? Profound knowledge in Import/ Export
    ? Profound SAP PS, MM and PP knowledge
    ? Profound Orsoft knowledge
    ? Fluency in English

    Main tasks and responsibilities
    1.) Planning (~6 months horizon)
    ? Closely interacts with other functions such as Project Management, Order related Engineering (ORE), Procurement etc
    ? Manages all internal milestones in SAP-PS as long as they do not affect customer facing milestones, incl. analyzing and reflecting change requests from PM, ORE (via estimated dates in SAP-PS), Procurement (via Purchaser Order Delivery dates in SAP-MM)
    ? Issues change-request for customer facing milestones to PM when required (via estimated dates in SAP-PS), provide scenario analysis with impact, risks and costs associated with milestone changes
    ? Conducts load planning (required productive hours based on forecast and orders) and capacity planning (FTEs, temporary labor, shifts, overtime) together with Manufacturing Manager (and supervisors) on workcenter level as basis for capacity or milestone adjustments
    ? Optimizes make or buy decisions to enhance internal capabilities and ensure absorption
    ? Manages interfaces to Logistic Providers, Import/Export authorities
    ? Handles projects/ tasks as assigned
    2.) Scheduling (~3 weeks horizon)
    ? Close interaction with functions inside operations such as Manufacturing Supervisors, Manufacturing process engineering, Goods Receiving/ Kitting/ Warehouse/ Material Handling, QC
    ? Creates, updates and escalates internal scheduling for operations (incl. goods receiving schedules) by creating and issuing production orders in Orsoft/SAP-PP linked to milestone panning in SAP-PS, handling of missing parts
    ? Issues daily/weekly worklists for each workcenter
    ? Handle projects/tasks as assigned.
    ? Optimize scheduling to minimize lead times, manufacturing costs (e.g., shiftmodels/overtime), inventory levels and risks
    ? Manage short-term overtime, multiskill-deployment and outsourcing decisions
    ? Manage production order, drawing and associated document printing,
