Position Overview:
Duke Kunshan University is seeking to hire a pro-active, innovative and highly energetic professional to
take the role of Officer of Career Services. Duke Kunshan University (DKU) is a Sino-US joint venture
university involving a strategic partnership between Duke University, Wuhan University, and the city of
Kunshan.
The Career Services Office at Duke Kunshan University assists graduate and undergraduate students as
well as alumni with discovering and refining their career pathways and ultimately realizing their future
career goals. The office also works with other stakeholders especially corporate partners in developing
career development programs, recruitment events, and other collaboration opportunities.

Director of Career Services
Essential Duties:
Relationship Development
• Develop and maintain relationships with employers and alumni from different industries, and build a
partnership for recruitment, projects, or other collaboration opportunities to enrich career
resources for students.
• Conduct regular industry research and resource development for program planning.
Career Programs and Events
• Work with the team on major career programs/events’ design and delivery, including career
workshops, career fairs, information sessions, guest speaker sessions, etc.
• Plan and deliver programs or events to further relationships with key stakeholders.
Career Advising
• Advise students on general career topics such as career resources exploration and career tools
utilization.
• Coach students on career development skills via one-on-one coaching appointments, such as career
goal setting, resume, cover letter and interview, etc.
Other Administration
• Manage and update marketing materials or platforms for business development needs.
• Track and update student information on a timely basis.
• Conduct data analysis and prepare reports based on project requests.
• Represent the career office to serve as the liaison with other program offices, and partner offices
within the university on event collaboration.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
• University employees’ job responsibilities will continue to expand in scope and depth as the
university grows and complexity in its programs.
Required Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree required; master’s degree is preferred.
• 2 years of work experience in human resources, business development, or professional client service
preferred, with no limitation with major/industry/function. Outstanding candidates with less
experience can be considered too.
• Experience in career services, and student or alumni service functions, with relevant coaching
experience in international universities will be a plus. Experience in different industries/functions
and job market knowledge are great to have.
• Proficient in English communication.
• Advanced skills in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
• Strong communication skills. Experience in delivering information to diverse stakeholders, or
previous experience in developing and presenting training workshops is a plus.
• Team player with the ability to handle multiple priorities in an independent manner.
• The successful candidate will be a person with a high level of maturity, confidence, and
interpersonal skills.
