Position Overview:
Physician plays a key role in DKU Campus Health Clinic team. By performing medical diagnostic and treatment activities in Health Clinic, he/she has the primary responsibility of providing general medical care to Duke Kunshan University community to meet the needs of a diverse and growing client body. He/she works together with other health care professionals in clinic to deliver and maintain an international standard and patient centered medical care.

Essential Duties:
1. Provide general outpatient and emergency medical services for DKU community in clinic: examine patients, make diagnosis, develop treatment plans, including prescribing and administering medical treatments and referring to other health care professionals as needed.
2. Follow-up on treatment to ensure the appropriate resolution of illness or injury.
3. Maintain the heath care of clinic at international standard, supervise and guide other medical professionals (nurses), contribute to Phase II Clinic establishment and development.
4. Consult and connect with local private and public health care providers for patients referring channels and services not available at Health Clinic.
5. Support university wise health related works, e.g., infectious diseases monitor/report, pandemic control and health education.
6. Perform other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications:
1. Graduation from a recognized medical school in China or overseas with a bachelor’s degree or above in clinical medicine.
2. Prior or current affiliation in family medicine, emergency medicine or internal medicine is preferred.
3. Prior work experience with college age students or university setting is preferred.
4. Prior experience in a general practice clinic is preferred.
5. Bilingual in Chinese and English, with a strong command of the English language.
6. Comprehensive knowledge and the ability to effectively apply the medical principles and methods essential to diagnosis and treatment of common medical disorders.
7. Accurate and rapid assessment and response to emergency situations.
8. Ability to communicate with patients in a caring and professional manner and convey information accurately and effectively.
9. Thorough knowledge of community resources in medical treatment and public health practices.
10. Deep understanding of applicable professional ethics and standards.
11. Knowledge of local, state, and national laws and regulations pertaining to the medical field and specialty.
12. Ability and motivation to acquire new medical knowledge when needed.
13. Incumbents must possess and maintain the legal requirements for the practice of medicine in China and able to register in DKU clinic, including the following:
1). Possess and maintain a valid and relevant certificate to practice medicine.
2). Possess and maintain a valid and relevant certificate of qualification.
