SUMMARY
Responsible for collecting, organizing, and generally managing information necessary to comply with international trade and material/substance content related regulations. This includes assisting in gathering needed data from suppliers and fulfilling reports for customer requests. Secondarily, this role serves as a contributor to Engineering Support Specialist who work to maintain and control engineering drawings, bills of materials, technical literature, and labels, ECOs, and other types of engineering documentation kept under revision control. Regulatory, Engineering, and other information is generally intended to be maintained in the company’s MRP system. This roll is in cooperation for an overall team objective to supply defective free products on time that meet or exceed customer expectations.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
Primary Responsibilities:
• Gather, Review, and Maintain Country of Origin (COO) and Harmonized Tarrif Schedule (HTS) information in IFS.
• Prepare USMCA (US, Mexico, and Canada agreements) and COO reports for customers as requested.
• Assist in Calculating or deriving COO and HTS codes on manufactured items as needed.
• Request and Research Supplier information for RoHS (Reduction of Hazardous Substances), REACH (Registration, Evaluation, Authorization and Restriction of Chemicals), TSCA (Toxic Substance Control Act), Prop 65 (ie local California related requirements), and other substance based laws
Secondary Responsibilities:
• Assure revised or new customer drawings are reviewed and approved by engineering and filed in customer drawing files.
• Assign and maintain product and component part numbers, bills of material and engineering change orders in the company’s MRP system.
• Collaborate with the engineering team to develop technical literature such as instruction manuals, utilizing Desktop Publishing and Solid Modeling Software.
• Upgrade and maintain revision controlled literature as required or as requested by the engineering team.
• Utilizing labeling software applications, create, maintain and provide technical support for label bases for in house printed labels.
• Coordinates interaction during the ECO processes between engineering, manufacturing, purchasing, and marketing to ensure changes are appropriately documented and communicated.
• Monitor the review cycle for ECOs with a goal of timeliness and accuracy of released documentation.
• Implements change and release details into the MRP system.
• Follows all engineering documentation procedures and priorities.
• Take responsibility for being the primary contact for Documentation needs in Suzhou.
• Extended Responsibilities
a. Perform basic maintenance of drawings using AutoCAD, and Solidworks.
b. Act as back up for basic maintenance of schematics using AutoCAD Electrical.
